37th European Academy of Childhood-onset Disability Conference
At the 37th European Academy of Childhood-onset Disability (ECAD) Congress in Heidelberg, the Amar Seva Sangam (ASSA) research team delivered three scientific presentations highlighting scalable, evidence-based innovations in pediatric rehabilitation for low-resource settings.
The flagship poster, “Bridging Gaps in Child Rehabilitation Using Digital Technology in India,” presented outcomes from the Enabling Inclusion® (EI) App — a digital platform that integrates the ICF framework, family-centred practice, and community-based rehabilitation. Data from over 6,000 children demonstrated how the EI model enhances access, fidelity, and caregiver engagement through real-time monitoring and transdisciplinary supervision.
A second presentation described the design and validation of a pediatric walker developed through iterative co-design with engineers, therapists, and children, emphasizing low-cost assistive technology and functional mobility outcomes.
The third presentation examined transdisciplinary training models for community rehabilitation workers, detailing competency gains and retention in resource-limited rural contexts.
Together, these studies demonstrated ASSA’s capacity to operationalize global frameworks within scalable, contextually grounded systems of care.
