Pediatric Assistive Technology Publication

In 2020, Amar Seva Sangam conducted a study on the needs, barriers, and facilitators of pediatric assistive technology in rural India.
As a result of that study, we launched an Assistive Technology (AT) Access Program in rural India with funding support from Handi-care Intl. and facilitated by the new Assistive Technology Module in the Enabling Inclusion app.

We conducted another research study along with the University of Toronto, where the perceptions of the rehab therapists regarding the new AT Access program were analyzed.

STUDY HIGHLIGHTS
  1. Organized access to AT in rural communities enables children with disabilities to improve their participation in social, recreational, and educational opportunities.
  2. Exploring rehabilitation providers’ perspectives gives insight into barriers and opportunities surrounding AT access within their cultural context, and how it influences their clinical practice.
