The Enabling Inclusion Child Development Webinar Series

The Enabling Inclusion Webinar Series was organized by Amar Seva Sangam and the University of Toronto (Canada)- International Centre for Disability and Rehabilitation (ICDR). Monthly webinars were conducted jointly by expert speakers from India and Canada from January to June 2022 and were supported by a Shastri Conference & Lecture Series Grant (SCLSG) 2021-2022 from the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute.

The Webinars aimed to share new insights from experts in India and Canada and acquiring knowledge of best aimed to practices, approaches, and interventions for serving their pediatric populations, with a focus on rural communities.

Objectives of the Child Development Webinars were:
  1. To deliver a capacity-building child development series to bridge the early intervention and child rehab knowledge gap of NGOs, rehab professionals, services providers in rural India.
  2. To provide knowledge translation on key best practice concepts to provide evidence-based intervention to children with developmental disabilities and their families.
  3. To create a platform for rehabilitation service providers/clinicians in rural India to exchange innovative ideas, share professional challenges and problem-solve within a community of practice
The EI Child development webinars were well attended by members of community NGOs, including rehabilitation clinicians and service providers, educators, researchers, academics, and NGO management across India, as well as community workers providing or interested in providing early intervention and rehabilitation services to children within communities across India. It served as a catalyst in capacity building of NGOs, early intervention & rehabilitation clinicians and community workers across India.
