ASSA receives grant to study and develop pediatric walkers
Amar Seva Sangam’s Centre of Excellence in Rehabilitation and Development for Children with Disabilities has received a grant from University of Toronto India Foundation to research the mobility needs of children with disabilities in India.
University of Toronto India Foundation has been established to build a network of Canadian and Indian researchers who will collaborate on addressing critical issues in India and around the world and facilitate an entrepreneurship hub, to connect innovators and entrepreneurs from Canada and India.
Amar Seva Sangam previous research has identified the challenges in use of existing pediatric walkers for children with mobility challenges in the rural terrain and in public transportation in India.
Thanks to this grant, we will work with University of Toronto’s International Centre for Disability and Rehabilitation and Mahatma Gandhi Mission University to conduct a study that will inform the development of a resilient paediatric walker.
